A Firm was hit with revocation for failing to ensure lawful driving and operation of vehicles

Director’s partner ran the licence with a “negligence bordering on the criminal”

NDA waste operator has had its licence taken away by the West Midlands Traffic Commissioner, Nick Denton. After one of the firm’s vehicles was stopped at the roadside, an alarming discovery was made. The driver of the vehicle didn’t hold the required C category licence or a driver CPC.

This left the vehicle uninsured. And it was also untaxed.

A DVSA investigation followed.

Examiners found the uninsured vehicle had been driven without a driver card on two days. A second vehicle on the licence was also untaxed.

Maintenance inspection sheets were unsatisfactory and the former director admitted she didn’t know what procedures the company had in place to monitor drivers’ hours.

At the public inquiry, the Traffic Commissioner found the operator hadn’t taken any concrete action to improve things. He revoked the licence and disqualified the former director for three years.

This operator ignored the advise and didn’t follow the practises that where put in place .
